About Me

I am a graduate of Florida Atlantic University with a doctoral degree in counselor education and family studies and from the University of Central Florida with my master’s in social work. I have been working with children, adolescents, and families for the past 26 years. I utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions when working with clients and integrate biblical truths to ensure we are addressing the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. In addition to my counseling practice, Bridge to Peace Counseling, I have been a professor and director of one of the master’s level counseling programs at Liberty University, a Christian university in Lynchburg, Virginia, for the past 7 years. I have written on multiple counseling topics and actively present at state and national conferences. I enjoy the beach, paddle boarding, boating, snorkeling, and pool lounging with my husband of 23 years, my 2 sons, and my 2 pups.

I offer traditional counseling approaches:

  • Cognitive behavioral therapy

  • Dialectical behavioral therapy

  • Narrative therapy

  • Faith-based counseling

  • Play therapy

  • Talk therapy

  • Other approaches based on individual client needs
